Travelling by motorhome in winter across Spain is entirely possible and very enjoyable, you just need to prepare the vehicle — and yourself — for the cold. Winter destinations worth it
- Sierra Nevada (Granada): skiing by day and, a couple of hours away, the subtropical coast and the Alpujarras. A perfect contrast.
- The Pyrenees (Vall de Núria, La Cerdanya, Aragonese valleys): snow, hot springs and mountain villages. That said, prepare thoroughly for intense cold.
- Cabo de Gata (Almería): one of the few places in Spain with mild, sunny winters, ideal for escaping the cold without leaving the country.
- Charming inland cities: places like Cáceres, Salamanca or Teruel, beautiful and peaceful in the low season.

Prepare the vehicle for the cold
